IVECO Trucks New Zealand revel in record sales performance

IVECO Trucks New Zealand has enjoyed its best sales results on record in 2016, increasing volume by almost 63 per cent and increasing market share from 2.63 per cent to 4.5 per cent.

Further adding to the impressive performance is that the total New Zealand market contracted by 236 units or approximately 5.5 per cent last year compared to full year 2015 results.

IVECO’s sales results were particularly strong in the light duty (4.5t plus) market, as well as in 6x4 trucks, propelling the brand from 12th position on the sales charts at the end of 2015 to 7th placing last year, making it the fastest growing commercial vehicle brand in the country.

IVECO Trucks New Zealand General Manager, Ian Walker, says the strong showing could be attributed to a number of factors.

“The recent results for the brand have been extremely encouraging and show that we are providing customers with vehicles that suit their business needs,” Mr Walker said.

“Developing the correct product mix for the market has been critical – we’ve consulted with the market and then developed and launched products to best fit what Kiwi owners are looking for in a van or truck.”

Mr Walker also noted that the brand benefited from regular new product launches and enhancements, providing buyers with a modern, efficient and technologically-advanced range of vehicles.

“The IVECO Stralis was International Truck of the Year in 2013, the Daily van took the International Van of the Year accolade in 2015 and most recently the new Eurocargo was awarded the 2016 International Truck of the Year,” he said.

“There’s no doubt that we’re dealing with World-class products.”

IVECO is using T.H.E EXPO to keep the advancements coming by launching the new E6-rated Daily and Eurocargo models as well as the new heavy duty Trakker 6x4. Product aside, Mr Walker says IVECO has also invested in expanding and modernising its professional Dealer Network, growing its head office team and enhancing its suite of aftersales products and service, designed to make IVECO ownership as efficient, rewarding and hasslefree as possible.

“A re-energised Dealer Network and the appointment of additional head office personnel is assisting us to get closer to our customers – we have good established Dealers and we’re rolling out phase two of our Dealer Network program around the country,” he said.

“We’re also better promoting the extra benefits of IVECO ownership beyond the machine itself with initiatives such as free servicing on Daily, the convenience of competitive repair and maintenance programs on all trucks, IVECO Assist roadside assistance and finance packages.

“IVECO Trucks New Zealand is here for the long term and operators will be seeing a lot more of our vehicles out on the roads this year and beyond.”
